Watch Video of Hockey Fans Singing to Taylor Swift’s ‘You Belong With Me’ Goes Wild on Social Media

It seems like Taylor Swift’s influence knows no bounds, as the star’s hit song “You Belong With Me” brought the whole crowd together at a recent hockey game in a now-viral video.

A hockey fan named Matthew, whose TikTok username is @michigankid91, shared a video of himself attending a Professional Women’s Hockey League game in Detroit, Mich., between teams from Boston and Ottawa, relaxing with a beer when Swift’s song came on.

People in the crowd immediately start singing along, including Matthew. Someone beside him then saw the lyrics on the jumbotron and commented, “Oh, we don’t need the lyrics, don’t worry,” and soon enough, the crowd passionately proved this to be true.

As the chorus of the song started, the audio cut off, leaving the crowd belting out “You Belong With Me” and singing every word. While there were other men and older people in the crowd, there were also many young girls whose voices loudly sang along.

Fans fell in love with the adorable clip and it quickly went viral. One top comment—with over 100,000 likes as of writing—said, “All those teeny tiny little girl voices… Anyone or anything that makes them sing out in unison like that is exactly what the world needs right now.”

“I’m actually sobbing. I love girlhood ,” said a second Swiftie, as a third chimed in, “People hate on swifties so bad but the beauty in the community and connection her music creates is exactly these moments.”
