Swifties Commemorate Their ‘Love Story’ With Perfectly-Timed Proposal at Melbourne Eras Tour.

The magical moment would not have happened if it hadn’t been for the help of some random Taylor Swift fans.

While Taylor Swift was on stage performing her hit “Love Story” overseas over the weekend, two fans in the crowd were busy living out the lyrics with their very own proposal.

The fairytale moment was captured by a fellow Swiftie named Karolina, who ultimately shared the video via TikTok, hoping to get it back to the couple. She included some clues in the caption, revealing that the relationship milestone occurred during Swift’s second night of performances in Melbourne, Australia, on Saturday, Feb. 17.

In the video—which has since gone viral and amassed over 8.6 million views since it was first shared—Swift, 34, can be heard performing the tune from her 2008 album Fearless as the crowd sings along with her.

Then, in the lead-up to the last verse, a young fan named Justin steadily made his way toward another concertgoer who was seemingly too lost in the music to realize what was going on. Moving at the beat of the lines, Justin eventually makes it to his girlfriend, Megan, just in time for Swift to sing: “He knelt to the ground and pulled out a ring /And said, “Marry me, Juliet!”

As everyone around her sneakily recorded the moment, Megan shook her head yes and welcomed her now-fiancé into her arms while those nearby cheered.

After the clip took the internet by storm, it made its way to Justin, who later detailed the experience from his perspective and noted that he had been working on making the proposal a reality for the last four months.

Explaining that he “knew how much Taylor Swift and her songs meant to Meg,” Justin said he had been planning it since he first watched the Eras Tour concert film with her in Oct. 2023, noting that he knew then that he had to propose to her at the concert—except unlike her, he didn’t have a ticket.

After enlisting the help of Meg’s sister Caroline, in Jan. 2024, Justin secured a ticket that wasn’t too far from the seats Meg had purchased. So he spent the past few weeks working on friendship bracelets with his closest pal to help their loved ones “celebrate the day itself.
