Prince Harry needs Prince William’s approval for UK return

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s potential return to the Royal Family hinges on Prince William’s approval, as suggested by King Charles’s former butler. Despite Harry’s recent visit to London to see his father, King Charles, following the latter’s cancer diagnosis, he reportedly did not reconcile with his older brother during the trip.

The brothers’ strained relationship, which has endured for several years, poses a significant obstacle to any potential reunion within the royal fold. Grant Harrold, a royal expert, expressed uncertainty about the feasibility of a full reconciliation, given the existing tensions and broken trust.

A complex situation
Yet, Harrold remains cautiously optimistic about the possibility of Harry’s return to the UK and potential reintegration into royal life, emphasizing the inherent complexities of the situation.

“It’s difficult to say given everything that has gone on and the trust that has been broken down whether they could return as full-time royals, but I’ve always said if Harry did return to the UK, it is possible,” Harrold told the New York Post.

“[Harry] could have a discussion with his brother about resuming his royal duties, but obviously there is so much that has happened over the last couple of years and that needs to be sorted out before the Sussexes made a permanent return.

“I don’t think it would be impossible – when I was working for the Royal Family, I saw how close William and Harry were, I don’t think that’s a relationship that is too far gone to be healed or fixed.”

While the road to reconciliation may be challenging, Harrold suggests that it is not entirely out of reach, leaving room for speculation about the future dynamics within the Royal Family.
