Kate Middleton’s attendance at Trooping the Colour causes conflict between Kensington Palace and the MoD

Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, is set to make her first major royal appearance since undergoing abdominal surgery earlier this year. The Ministry of Defence (MoD) announced that Kate will review the dress rehearsal at Horse Guards Parade for the Trooping the Colour on June 8, marking her return to public duties.

The announcement comes after Kensington Palace had previously indicated that Kate was unlikely to resume public engagements until after Easter. The Princess underwent planned major abdominal surgery at the London Clinic in January and has been focusing on her recovery since then.

Kate was seen for the first time since her surgery just on Monday the 4th. The Princess was traveling in a car driven by her mother, Carole. Middleton wore dark glasses and smiled slightly during the ride, giving good signs of her recovery.

The MoD overstepped Kensington Palace work
Despite the MoD’s announcement, Kensington Palace has not yet confirmed Kate’s attendance at the event, indicating that the Palace was not consulted on the MoD’s update. A royal source emphasized that attendance at royal events is typically announced by the Palace, not the MoD.

Trooping the Colour is a significant event in the royal calendar, marking the official birthday of the British Sovereign for more than 260 years. The parade features more than 1,400 soldiers, 200 horses, and 400 musicians, showcasing military precision and fanfare.
