Fans Think ’Tortured Poets’ Is a Sister Album to ‘Midnights’ Thanks to Taylor Swift’s Visual Easter Eggs.

Once you see these side-by-sides, you will not be the same.

The Tortured Artists Department is coming on April 19 (yes, fans have linked this date to Joe Alwyn) and Taylor Swift has been busy dropping visuals. So far, Tay’s released the main album cover–featuring her lying down with her arms draped across her body:

Then we have this picture of Taylor looking angsty (or some might say ~tortured~) with her hand on her forehead:

Plus these photos from “The Bolter” edition of the album, featuring Taylor lying down with her head in the crook of her arm, and a pic of her tucking hair behind her ear:

And if all these photos look somewhat familiar, that miiiiiight be because they’re pretty much identical in terms of body language to the visuals for Midnights. Like, the similarities are pretty much impossible to miss, which naturally has fans speculating that Tortured Poets and Midnights are sister albums:

midnights was the happy part she wanted us to see from her like she was happy after making two home wrecking albums full of sadness painted as “fictional” but tortured poets department is how she really felt indeed but couldn’t tell us cuz of him.

Obviously, the only person who truly knows what Tortured Poets is about is Taylor Swift. But apparently one person who’s been clocking fan theories is her ex Joe Alwyn, who think’s it’ll be “shady” if the album’s about him.

As a source told the Daily Mail “If it is a dis album, that is shady. He helped her with song writing on her past album so it will really come as a shock to him if she talks about their breakup, as it is something he has not spoken of at all. Regardless of what she does, he will still not respond because he has removed himself from her narrative and is very glad he did.”

Anywayyyyyy, speaking of reading into things, we need to discuss the theories about Taylor’s tracklist—specifically why people think “But Daddy I Love Him” is fully about Harry Styles, ahem.
