Chiefs erased 10-point deficit to beat 49ers in Super Bowl

The Chiefs beat the 49ers, 25-22, in overtime after Patrick Mahomes threw a touchdown pass to Mecole Hardman. At one point, San Fran owned a 10-0 lead over Kansas City. But the Super Bowl was like a microcosm of the Chiefs season. They came back and won anyway. The Chiefs needed to tie the game on a Harrison Butker field goal with six seconds to go in regulation to give themselves a chance in OT.

The Chiefs celebrated their third Super Bowl in four years with a parade, Wednesday in Kansas City. Everyone was in a festive mood, as players walked the parade route and slapped high fives with fans. Police estimated the crowd at about 1 million. Kelce ended the party with a rowdy version of the Garth Brook classic Friends in Low Places.

Sadly, shortly after the end of the parade, gunfire broke out. One person died and 22 were injured. Kansas City police said that the shootings happened after a dispute broke out. You can read more On3 coverage here.

When watching the tears in Jason Kelce’s eyes as time expired on what could potentially have been his final game in the National Football League (Tampa Bay Bucs–NFC Wild Card), it was pretty clear that his NFL career was likely done, even if he still hadn’t officially retired. And while many fans watching that thought he was likely finished for good, there is still a small glimmer of uncertainty since Kelce has not officially retired yet.

Eagles fans are still clinging onto the small glimmer of hope that he’ll come back for one more year with the franchise. Earlier this week, one of his former Philadelphia teammates basically took that glimmer and shut the window on it. In a recent podcast with John Clark of NBC Sports Philadelphia, Eagles offensive lineman Jordan Mailata basically said there’s no chance Kelce is playing again.
