Police warning issued to Taylor Swift fans in Sydney: ‘Won’t be tolerated’

Police have issued a warning to fans hoping to see the superstar in Sydney over the weekend.

NSW Police have a strict warning for Taylor Swift fans who had hoped to see the superstar this weekend.

The singer is due to perform four sold-out concerts from Friday to Monday to 80,000 Swifties each night.

Police will be around the venue from Friday to Monday to ensure the safety and security of all attendees and staff.

Acting Assistant Commissioner Andrew Holland has now urged those unlucky fans who don’t have tickets to stay away from the stadium.

He also warned that those who do turn up to the venue will need to be on their best behaviour.

“Anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated, and police will act in a fair but firm manner to ensure everyone has a good time but not at the expense of other people’s safety, so take care of one another, “said the commissioner.

Fans have taken to social media to share their concerns, especially about Friday, with lightning warnings putting the show at major risk.

“I’d say the only cancellation reason would be lightning. No one wants Tay Tay to die during an outdoor concert in Sydney!” wrote one fan. “It’s at Accor, so it’s not fully under cover. “She’s performed in the rain before so it would have to be very heavy rain and lightning for her to postpone. She’s only postponed two shows during this tour, I believe.”

It’s not the first time Swift’s Sydney concerts have faced harsh weather conditions.

The Sydney Reputation Stadium Tour show was clouded by rain and lightning, and the singer got drenched while performing. However, despite the lightning danger which delayed the concert, Swift did not cancel the show.

In a Nova radio interview at the time, Swift said the Sydney concert was “so much fun because we all just danced together in the rain”.

“I’m not going to cancel a show no matter what, unless physically they tell me that none of us can be on stage,” she said.

However, Swift did cancel an Eras Tour performance last year due to extreme weather in Argentina.
